Our exciting and adventuresome Wilderness Experience is the perfect gateway into the wilderness for families with children, friends, for corporate team building and for those who just want to connect with nature.
Explore the outdoors and make it a fun learning experience. The Wilderness Experience is an exciting three day explorative adventure in the Himbiliyakade Forest Reserve, Wasgamuwa National Park, and in the Knuckles Mountain Range. Stumble upon a myriad of wildlife, discover the underworld, learn about eco-agriculture, GIS/mapping and orienting, and work with communities to resolve human-elephant conflicts for long term elephant conservation. Learn natural history under the guidance of trained and experienced educators.
For Families:
The Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society is pleased to offer a special Family Wilderness Experience for families with children. We understand how to cater to the special needs of families in the wilderness. We support you in your desire to create a safe and enjoyable wilderness adventure for your family. The Family Wilderness Experience is designed to ensure that young people's early hiking, jungle trekking, and wildlife experiences will be fun, exciting and educational. Kids, the outdoors, and nature are a winning combination. It's great to see how kids when exposed to nature develop a sense of responsibility and respect for wildlife and the environment. Kids and parents will have opportunities to learn about native plants and local wildlife, and are given an introduction to ecology, wildlife conservation and basic wilderness skills. Along the way, participants will catch a glimpse of rural life and share common experiences with local families.

If you are a group of friends that cares about the environment, going out on adventures together and loves the wilderness, then our Wilderness Experience for Friends was created to offer a unique outdoor adventure specifically for you. The Wilderness Experience for Friends is designed to give friends a life changing experience. The wilderness provides an intimate setting where one can find out that Nature and the human soul make perfect companions.

The Wilderness Experience is an ideal program for corporate team building. The wilderness is an ideal setting where discussions, learning, communication, trust and self confidence can be encouraged.
